Privacy Policy

Introduction

This policy explains what this site collects when you read a bench note, what it does with that data, and how to get it removed. It applies to every page under pcperipherals.online.

Who we are

PC Peripherals is an independent hardware testing site written and maintained by Sergio Estrada. Contact for data requests: hardware@pcperipherals.online.

Information we collect

We collect the technical data a web server needs to answer a request: IP address, user agent, the page requested and the time of the request. If you leave a comment or send an email, we keep what you type.

Server logs

The hosting stack writes standard access logs that include IP address, request path, status code and user agent. They are used to diagnose errors and block abuse, and are rotated on the host.

Cookies

Reading a note sets no tracking cookie. If you log in to the editorial account, WordPress sets a session cookie and a small preferences cookie so the editor remembers you.

Comments

Comments are closed on notes by default. Where they are open, the name and email you supply are stored with the comment and the IP address that submitted it, which is standard WordPress behaviour for spam handling.

Email

Messages sent to our address are kept in the mailbox so we can follow up on a correction. They are never added to a mailing list and never shared.

Analytics

No third-party analytics product is installed on this site. Page counts come from server logs only.

Affiliate links

Some outgoing links are affiliate links. Clicking one can set a cookie on the merchant’s domain so a later purchase is attributed to us. That cookie belongs to the merchant, is governed by the merchant’s own policy, and never exposes your reading history on this site.

Embedded content

Photographs used on this site come from Wikimedia Commons and are served from our own media library, so loading a page sends no request to a third-party image host.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent or trade reader data. Data is shared only with the hosting provider that runs the server, and only to the extent needed to serve pages.

How long we keep data

Server logs are rotated on the host and typically age out within a few weeks. Correction emails are kept for as long as the related note is published. Comment records, where comments exist, are kept with the post.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Send the request to the address above and we will answer within thirty days.

Children

This site is written for adults buying computer hardware. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, the editorial account uses a unique password, and WordPress core is kept updated. No system is perfect, so we keep the data we hold as small as possible.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page and the change is noted in the introduction. Last updated: October 31, 2026.
